Chile has recently decided to integrate into the framework of the "Shield of the Americas", an American initiative presented as a cooperation against transnational crime. Although the Chilean government claims that this is not a treaty and that sovereignty remains intact, questions arise regarding the political and economic implications of this alliance. In a context of increasing geopolitical tensions, Chile must navigate between American and Chinese interests while facing major internal challenges.
