The Barbados Cancer Society has decided to acquire an automated 3D breast ultrasound system aimed at improving screening and early detection of breast cancer. The funds raised during the CIBC Walk for the Cure will contribute to the purchase of this equipment valued at $600,000. This system will help reduce waiting times for examinations, although the results will need to be analyzed remotely in Trinidad.
