The president of the advisory team on transboundary waters in Ethiopia highlighted the benefits of the new dams on the Nile. He emphasized that the climatic conditions in Ethiopia allow for better water storage, thus reducing losses due to evaporation. Moreover, these infrastructures could decrease sedimentation in downstream lakes, such as Lake Nasser, while providing opportunities for energy cooperation among the riparian countries.
