The Parliament of Nicaragua has approved significant amendments to the Constitution, aimed at enhancing the country's stability and security. These reforms, resulting from a consultation involving more than 300,000 citizens, prohibit the application of extraterritorial laws and impose restrictions on candidates for public office. Furthermore, the duration of electoral mandates is set at seven years, and the date of presidential inauguration is now January 18.
