Between January and June, land-related conflicts saw a significant increase in Brazil, with over 798 reported incidents, according to a recent analysis. The tensions are mainly attributed to the expansion of the agro-industrial sector and the commodification of land. Although murders have decreased, violence against those involved in rural conflicts has increased, with a rise in assaults and pollution cases related to mining activities.
