French cyclist Tronchon, a member of the Groupama-FDJ United team, triumphed in a bunch finish, clocking a time of 4:07.41 hours. He finished ahead of Danish rider Magnus Cort Nielsen and Belgian Thibau Nys. Spanish rider Enric Mas, who retains the red jersey, finished 36th at the same time as Tronchon. The race was marked by several breakaway attempts, but it was ultimately a fast finish that determined the winner. The next stage will connect Cartagena to Lorca.
