Typhoon Saudel made landfall near Zhangpu in Fujian province, with sustained winds of 23 meters per second. Prior to that, it crossed the coast of Zhejiang. More than 83,000 people were evacuated due to heavy rains that led to the suspension of activities in certain areas of Zhangzhou.
