The Ministry of Public Health has announced the strengthening of epidemiological surveillance at the country's entry points, in response to a suspected case of pneumonic plague in Russia. Although the Dominican Republic is not an endemic country for this disease, authorities are closely monitoring travelers from high-risk areas. No cases have been identified on Dominican territory, and the measures are preventive.
