Dinorah García Romero, the new rector of the Salomé Ureña Higher Institute of Teacher Training, denounced the persistence of political clientelism in Dominican education. She emphasized that although controls have been established, individuals without a genuine teaching vocation continue to enter the system. García Romero advocated for a separation of political parties from educational institutions and proposed raising the admission criteria for future teachers.
