A court in La Altagracia has decided to detain four individuals involved in the trafficking of migrants to Puerto Rico. Among them, Vladimir Lajara Aguasvivas, considered one of the main organizers, received three months of preventive detention. The other suspects received less severe measures. The investigation, conducted with the help of the Dominican Navy and U.S. Coast Guard, led to the interception of 128 migrants, many of whom were Haitians in an irregular situation.
