A 15-year-old lost his life by drowning on Sunday afternoon in the río Yaque del Norte, at the La Otra Banda gate, an area where swimming is prohibited due to dangers. His family alerted the authorities after he did not resurface. Rescue teams found his body two hours later. The Civil Defense reminds of the risks associated with this water area.
