The Mayor of the National District, Carolina Mejía, emphasized the importance of preserving the legacy of figures who contributed to urban development during the unveiling ceremony of a plaque in honor of Joaquín Balaguer. Members of the Christian Social Reformist Party were present. Mejía also mentioned the budgetary challenges faced in meeting the needs of the 2.5 million daily users of the district, while stressing the need for proper maintenance of public spaces.
