The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Andrew Wheatley, emphasized the need to strengthen cybersecurity in Jamaica, after recording over 5.4 million intrusion attempts during the first quarter. At the launch of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, he mentioned the increase in attacks and the serious consequences on critical infrastructure. A new legislative framework is being prepared to establish minimum cybersecurity standards.
