At the fourth annual gala of the Jamaican American Law Enforcement Organization (JAMLEO) in New York, security professionals and community leaders were honored for their commitment to Jamaica and its diaspora. Among the awardees, Deputy Superintendent Garnet H. Sappleton received the Leadership Award. The New York Police Commissioner praised the impact of officers of Jamaican descent in the department. The event also highlighted JAMLEO's efforts to support education and preserve cultural heritage.
