On August 18, part of La Coulée beach in Saint-François was closed to swimming due to a red discoloration of the water, suspected to be caused by red algae. The analyses from the Regional Health Agency did not identify the origin of this phenomenon. Although the water has returned to normal, questions remain about the impact of these algae on fishing and health.
