The gommier, a maritime tradition experiencing a revival in Sainte-Luce

In Sainte-Luce, a passionate association is bringing back the art of sailing in gommier, a traditional boat. Young people, some of whom are discovering their Martiniquan roots, are participating in initiations. Although the gommier has been supplanted by the yole, the enthusiasm for this ancestral practice remains strong, with about thirty members engaged in preserving this maritime heritage.
