The VMS geolocation beacon will become mandatory for coastal fishermen in a month. This system, already in effect for deep-sea fishermen, aims to ensure the traceability of fishing outings. Currently, nearly 200 of the 350 affected vessels have begun the process. To support this transition, financial assistance covering 90% of the beacon's cost is offered to professionals.
