After seven years of incarceration, Amber Guyger, a former police officer, has received approval for her parole from the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles. Convicted for the murder of Botham Jean in 2019, she was serving a ten-year sentence. Her early release does not mean the end of her sentence, as she will have to comply with strict conditions. Jean's family, still in mourning, has requested to respect their privacy in light of this decision.
