This year, Antigua and Barbuda has recorded over 200 cases of sexual and physical abuse against children. The Minister of Social Transformation expressed his shock at these figures and emphasized that for every reported case, three others could go unnoticed. He called for mandatory minimum sentences for child abuse, while denouncing the rarity of life sentences.
