The Court of Appeal has overturned his conviction, stating that the jurors had not received adequate instructions to assess the reliability of the WhatsApp messages presented by the prosecution. These messages, which were allegedly sent by the accused, were crucial to the verdict, but their origin was not sufficiently verified.
