Guyana and the United States have established a framework for migration cooperation, allowing for the reception of a limited number of qualified and non-criminal individuals through the IOM's Voluntary Return Assistance Program. The Guyanese government retains the power to review and reject candidates. The IOM will manage the implementation at no cost to Guyana, and relocated individuals may apply for international protection if necessary.
