The Agua Negra trans-Andean tunnel, connecting San Juan to Coquimbo, aims to improve connectivity between Argentina and Chile. This ambitious project will use a high-tech tunnel boring machine to simultaneously excavate and line the tunnel. Two parallel tunnels of 14 kilometers will be constructed, requiring solutions tailored to the complex geological conditions of the Andes mountain range. Safety during excavation is also a priority.
