Since 2018, China has added 949 medicines to its national list, of which 199 are innovative. Authorities plan to expand coverage of these medicines through commercial insurance, prioritizing those that offer significant clinical benefits. Additionally, approval times for pharmaceutical innovations will be reduced. These initiatives aim to improve access to treatments and alleviate the economic burden of serious illnesses.
