A meeting in Tokyo between the Colombian Minister of Commerce and the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs marked a turning point in bilateral relations. The two parties agreed to continue discussions to revive negotiations for a trade agreement. The Colombian minister also met with other Japanese officials to explore new opportunities in the commercial and agro-industrial sectors.
