This week, an extreme drought has intensified in several areas of southern and eastern Puerto Rico. Currently, more than 75% of the island is experiencing various levels of drought, with 41% in extreme conditions. The most affected regions include the south and a significant part of the east, including Vieques. Other areas are suffering from severe and moderate drought, worsening the water situation on the island.
