The city of Itapoá has completed a significant expansion of its beaches, increasing the width of the beach by 50 to 200 meters. This intervention, which cost 333 million reais, used about six million cubic meters of sand from the dredging of Babitonga Bay. This project, which includes the construction of dunes and the restoration of vegetation, will be monitored over three years to assess its environmental impact and on local fishing.
