More than 1,200 people have lost their lives and about 5,500 remain missing following floods caused by the melting of a glacier in Nepal. Entire villages have been buried under mud. The Japanese Foreign Minister reaffirmed Japan's commitment to support its Nepalese partner. A JICA team, already present, is assessing urgent medical needs on site.
