The Secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways announced a significant decrease in construction projects for the coming years. In 2024 and 2025, more than 25,000 projects had been launched, but this number has fallen to 17,861 for this year. The forecast for 2027 is 11,395 projects. This decrease is due to changes in the budget program, notably the exclusion of low-cost initiatives.
