The European Union has reported a trade deficit for the first time since the second quarter of 2023, with imports exceeding exports. This deficit is mainly attributed to the rise in energy costs, as well as an increase in deficits in raw materials and certain manufactured goods. However, surpluses have been observed in the chemical and food sectors.
