The joint mission of Unesco, the Dominican Republic, and Spain to locate sunken ships at La Isabela is entering its crucial phase in 2027. Two previous missions revealed promising underwater anomalies, suggesting the presence of cultural remains related to Columbus' expeditions. In situ preservation is prioritized to protect this heritage, while international experts collaborate on this project.
