The Ministry of Defense announced several changes within the Armed Forces on Monday, aimed at strengthening national security. Among the new appointments, General Enrique Aguilera Trujillo takes the lead of the Cuerpo Especializado de Seguridad Fronteriza Terrestre, while José H. Rodríguez Coste becomes the director of intelligence. Other appointments concern airport security and the Voluntary Military Service, effective from August 17, 2026.
