The president of the Crohn's and Colitis Inflammatory Disease Foundation of the Northern Region has denounced the obstacles faced in operating on patients at the Hospital Regional Universitario José María Cabral et Báez. A lack of surgeons and hospital beds is to blame. One patient had to wait 15 days in emergency before being transferred to another facility. Furthermore, the foundation welcomes the inclusion of new medications in the coverage program, while calling for a swift implementation.
