The Amédée-Detraux velodrome, inaugurated in the 1990s, is now in a state of advanced degradation and lacks a sports project. Although a renovation plan is available, funding from the Guadeloupe Region is conditional on the development of a roadmap for the site. Currently, the venue is left abandoned, with deteriorating infrastructure and open access to the track.
