The UN Security Council has decided to extend the arms embargo in Haiti for another year, as well as sanctions targeting certain officials responsible for the violence. This renewal includes measures against breaches of trust and the embezzlement of public funds. Despite the embargo, arms trafficking remains a major issue, exacerbating the country's political and security crisis. The elections scheduled for December are also postponed.
