The UN Security Council has described the illegal exploitation of natural resources as a threat to Haiti's stability. In this context, it encourages Haitian authorities to implement a decree to regulate the fishing of glass eels and the resulting trade. This initiative follows the adoption of resolution 2831, aimed at renewing the mandate of a committee of experts for 13 months.
