Members of the House of Representatives recently paid tribute to Hyacinth Knight, former parliamentarian, by observing a minute of silence to celebrate her commitment to her community. Active from 1983 to 1989, she also served as mayor of Port Maria. Her contributions to education and community development have left a mark on St. Mary. A scholarship fund will be established in her honor, and a community center she initiated will be completed.
