The Jamaican government plans to relocate the residents of Parottee, in the parish of St Elizabeth, to prove that it is possible to move vulnerable communities without compromising their dignity. The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of consulting residents to ensure a respectful process. This project, launched after the passage of Hurricane Melissa, aims to preserve community ties while ensuring the safety of residents against disaster risks.
