Taiwanese prosecutors have brought charges against 15 individuals and four companies following the discovery of a carcinogenic substance in cooking oil. More than 2,800 tons of oil have been withdrawn from the market after a batch was identified as containing excessive levels of benzo(a)pyrene. The charges include a delay in notifying authorities and violations of food safety laws.
