The Panama Canal may impose additional restrictions on maritime traffic due to a drought exacerbated by the El Niño phenomenon. The new administrator indicated that the daily number of ships, already reduced, could further decrease if the situation does not improve. Currently, 32 ships are allowed to pass each day, while the water level in the reservoirs continues to decline.
