More than 3,000 tarantulas were intercepted at Lima airport as they were about to be sent to Germany. The spiders were concealed in dirty socks in the luggage of two German nationals and one Pole. During a routine check, customs agents noticed suspicious movements in the suitcases. The suspects were arrested and will face charges for wildlife trafficking.
