Two gendarmes from the GIGN were seriously injured by gunfire during an operation in Les Abymes, Guadeloupe, targeting armed thieves. One was shot in the arm, the other in the leg. Four suspects have been arrested, while operations continue. The Minister of the Interior condemned the attacks against law enforcement. The vital prognosis of the gendarmes is not in jeopardy.
