The construction sector in New Caledonia is going through a critical period, with historically low activity. The workforce has dropped from 7,500 to around 4,000 employees, leading to a loss of skills. The majority of projects are now public, representing 85% of the activity. Although reconstruction and investment plans have been put in place, the recovery remains fragile and depends on the realization of the announced projects.
