A retired judge, Mario Michel, has been appointed to chair an Inquiry Commission on the maritime collision that occurred on July 18, which resulted in several deaths and injuries. This Commission, composed of four members, will examine the circumstances of the accident and the maritime laws in force in Saint Lucia. The work will begin on September 8 and continue until March 8, 2027, with recommendations to improve maritime safety.
