The President of the Caribbean Court of Justice highlighted a delay in member states' adherence to its appellate jurisdiction during the opening of the new judicial year in Saint Lucia. Although countries like Guyana and Barbados joined early on, the pace of adherence has been slower than expected. Despite this, the CCJ continues to improve access to justice and has recorded a significant increase in the number of cases handled.
