CARICOM has decided to hire an external law firm to manage the challenge from Trinidad and Tobago regarding Dr. Carla Barnett's reelection as Secretary-General. The president of CARICOM, Philip J. Pierre, emphasized the importance of transparency in this process. He also mentioned constructive discussions with the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, who requested an advisory opinion from the Caribbean Court of Justice. The external lawyers have received all the necessary documents to prepare the defense.
