A prolonged power outage in Nassau forced the Broadcasting Corporation of The Bahamas to suspend its broadcasts. After more than 48 hours of generator operation, smoke was detected in the building, leading to the evacuation of staff. Although electricity was temporarily restored, ongoing issues continued to affect the area, also disrupting many local businesses.
