The government of Barbados has caught the attention of the international oil industry with its search for offshore oil and gas resources. Six candidates submitted pre-qualification applications before the September 1 deadline. One of them has already achieved qualified status and has reserved three blocks for exclusive negotiations. The other applications are under review, while legislative changes are being prepared to facilitate negotiations.
