In Uruguay, hydropower dominates the renewable energy sector, accounting for 99.4% of total production. In August, hydropower production reached a record level in nearly 11 years. Wind energy follows with 28% of production, while biomass contributes 11.7%. Electricity consumption increased by 2.5% in 2025, with growing attention on electromobility.
