Health authorities in Belize have announced the detection of 19 cases of measles in 2023, including four recently in October in the Cayo district. All patients have recovered and contact tracing actions as well as targeted vaccinations are underway. Measles, a contagious viral disease, can lead to serious complications. The Ministry of Health recommends vaccination to prevent this disease.
