The Laotian government has signed an agreement worth nearly $203 million to build a coal power plant in Xieng Khouang province. This project aims to enhance the reliability of electricity supply, especially during dry periods. The plant, which will be managed by local and Chinese companies, is part of a strategy to diversify the country's energy sources. Solar initiatives are also underway.
